This small town of Kangra district is divided into two parts. The first part of the city is called Lower Dharamshala, and the second part is called Upper Dharamshala i.e. McLeodganj. The distance from Lower Dharamshala to McLeodganj is about nine kilometers and is the biggest attraction here.

In Lower Dharamshala you have more options for shopping and seeing old buildings. The Kotwali market adjacent to Dharamshala’s bus stand is the city’s most bustling area. In this market, you can do the desired shopping at a much lower price than McLeodganj.

The distance from Delhi to dharamshala is about 450 kilometers.

By Train : Pathankot is the nearest station for people coming by train, Go from Old Delhi railway station to Pathankot by Kashmir Mail and Dholadhar Express. Himachal roadways and private bus services are available from here to Dharamshala. The distance from Pathankot to Dharamsala is 78 km, which can be covered in two and a half to three hours. Rent – Rs 90 to Rs 100 per.

By Bus : Deluxe, AC and Volvo bus service from Kashmiri Gate Delhi Bus Terminal to Himachal Roadways Dharamshala. Apart from this, the nearest airport is also in Pathankot. Ticket cost (est.) :ย  Rs 430 to Rs 1020

About 9 km from main Dharamshala bus stand. You can call the small town of McLeodganj at the height of several cultures. There are more Tibetans here, because after the Chinese invasion of Tibet, the Buddhist Dalai Lama came here. Being the center of Tibetan activities, it is also called Little Lhasa. The Dalai Lama's temple as well as the Tibet Museum can be seen here.

Triund is known for trekking among tourists and climbing here is quite difficult. There is snow on the hills of Dhauladhar. After 4 hours of continuous climbing, the Himalayas begin to appear and snow is seen everywhere. It seems that someone has covered the hill with white sheets. You can rent tents here to relax.

A huge statue of Buddha in the main Buddhist monastery of Meklodganj draws everyone towards him. There is also the Tibet Institute of Performing Arts Center, where a grand festival is organized in April every year.

The most prominent attraction here is the Dalai Lama Temple where there are statues of Shakya Muni, Avalokiteshwara and Padmasambhava. A confluence of cultures of India and Tibet is found here. Between March and July, there is a large number of tourists here. It is amazing to see the sunset from here.

If you are going from Dharamshala to McLeodganj, then you can spend some moments on this church on the way. In addition to the ancient church, there is a memorial to the British Viceroy Lord Elgin.

Hearing the name of this lake, which is about two km from McLeodganj, it is natural to remember the Dal Lake of Kashmir. It is not as vast as Dal Lake, but a beautiful lake. Large cedar trees around the lake attract tourists who come here.

Situated at an elevation of about 9,280 feet above sea level, the Triund is a picturesque site. The snow line starts from some distance from here. Trekking enthusiasts can enjoy trekking in the inaccessible hills here.

If you want to take a closer look at the ancient history of Kangra as well as many rare items of the fifth century, then visit this museum, located some distance away from Dharamshala Main Bus Stand. The tableau of the development of art and crafts made during the reign of the erstwhile kings of Kangra can be seen here.

The martyr's memorial, located about one km from the Dharamshala Main Bus Stand, is built to pay tribute to the martyrs of the war that took place after the independence of the country.
